Jean Grey Phoenix
I am on my way to a meeting...but, I wanted to share this morning my inner Superwoman...If you dont know what I am talking about, listen to the show from last night. Go to Talkshoe.com, or hit the button to the right...
I'll be back soon....
This has worked out to be one of the most popular posts. I thought I would spend a few moments explaining my choice of Jean Grey from the X-Men.
I am one of those people who sincerely believes she is a superhero. I've go my boys all believing I've got mommy magic. The consequence of being one of those people is we often over-extend, try new feats of heroism, and crash and burn. None of that is what is intended by God. He would have it that we pursue our mission in life with fervor and faithfulness...and reliance on him, that He may shoulder the burden of our mission, while we attend to the work of our mission.
9So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete Sabbath-rest reserved for the [true] people of God;
10For he who has once entered [God's] rest also has ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just as God rested from those labors [a]peculiarly His own.(A)
11Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell].
Where the Pheonix/Jean Grey comes in for me, she is amazing in her ability to resurrect. This is an image of my saving grace...God protects me from my disposition to be *super* and allows me the grace to make a come back--as an even more powerful Woman of God. So, I am not needing to be the superwoman...so to speak..!
Who is your inner super woman? Share...
