Wisdom...Again

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

I'm so all over this Wisdom thing...Wednesday we will get into the practical applications of this topic.
But, today, I know at least for me, I've got to really understand what the Wisdom of God is all about. Why? Because I want to understand what I am seeking. If the Word of God will increase my faith, it is only because I've grown in understanding what the Word of God means and so therefore can begin to wield its power over a situation. It is not enough to say I am "fearfully and wonderfully made." I have to deep in my soul, wedged in my mind, understand why I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
~~I am fearfully and wonderfully made because God intended that I would live.(Isaiah 43:1)
~~I am fearfully and wonderfully made because God knit me together with his own hands. (Psalm 139:13)
~~I am fearfully and wonderfully made because God knows me even when I should hide from myself. (Psalm 17:8; Psalm 139:7-10)
~~I am fearfully and wonderfully made because He made me in his image. (Genesis 1:27)
Its the wisdom of God that speaks to the why behind the word. It is because of this understanding that we can then speak instruction...

1 Corinthians 1
30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

Yesterday I remarked on the three tempations...these listed above are the three graces. (That is a Vida term...I'm sure my theologians out there know the academic term for them, so please help me out.) But do you see what I see: because Christ is the embodiment of wisdom, he quickly explains to us that we have the three things that allows us to defeat our temptions: materialism is defeated by righteousness, power is defeated by redemption and hedonism is defeated by holiness.

materialism is defeated by righteousness because it is living by the divine and moral law that governs you through Christ. And the greatest of these is to love God with your whole heart your whole mind and your whole spirit, remembering that it is easier for a camel to pass by through the eye of a needle than to make it into heaven. You will recall that you can't serve both manna and God. Therefore abundance must be redefined through the lens of what Christ's intention is for you, and your family.

power is defeated by redemption simply because you acknowledge that like man, you too have fallen short of the Glory of God and therefore redemption is needed. That sense of humility will prevent the predatory dominance that comes with the power seeking arrogance and pride.

hedonism is defeated by holiness because---it is. The two can not co-exist. In fact holiness will redefined for you the sentiment of Carpe Diem--Seize the day. No longer is seize the day related to getting all the fleshy endeavors that the lust of the eye can conjure up. No...seize the day is synonymous with seizing the opportunity to this day live for Christ, and enjoy the blessing and bounty of His Grace. Seeing beauty in the creation of his Earth and his people.

So...speak with wisdom today ladies...speak boldly and strongly with the understanding of Christ.
